Will I get bulky as a female if I lift weights?

There are many factors that determine your overall body composition.

Just to name a few… genetic makeup, your nutrition, your hormones, and your metabolism.

These all contribute to your physical appearance.

Women have significantly less testosterone than men do.

This restricts females from being able to acquire anywhere near the amount of muscle that males do.

The majority of your body composition comes from your nutrition.

As long as you are eating at maintenance calories (eating the same amount of calories as you burn) or in a caloric deficit (eating fewer calories than you burn) you will not be putting on any weight.

Resistance training actually will also allow you to burn more calories while doing absolutely nothing.

You heard that right, and that is because muscle tissue burns fat.

High-intensity weight training will also allow you to continue burning fat after your workout.

It has been shown to raise your metabolic rate.

Which will keep you burning calories after your workout is finished.

Ladies, it’s time to put aside those five-pound dumbbells.

Start pushing yourself with heavier weights, and the desired physique will come!
